We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to help steer our financial future.
Latch is here for families affected by childhood cancer in Wales, providing bespoke emotional, practical, and financial support. Our charity is based at the Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, which means we are here when families need us most. We support children with cancer and those undergoing cancer-like treatment who are under the care of the Paediatric Oncology Principal Treatment Centre in Wales at the Children’s Hospital.
After five years of careful stewardship and excellent service, our current Treasurer is retiring from their role. As our new Treasurer you be joining at a time of progression and development for the charity; as such you will play a critical role in providing financial oversight, guidance on financial strategy, risk management, and stewardship.
The Treasurer leads the Board’s duty to ensure proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are controlled and invested in line with governance, legal and regulatory requirements. This is a vital role that helps safeguard the organisation's long‑term sustainability and ensures the charity’s resources are used responsibly and effectively in service of Latch’s mission.
You will have strong financial expertise, experience in financial strategy and some governance experience. You will also demonstrate effective communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to our values. Experience in investment management, scaling up organisations and charity finance are desirable, along with some commercial experience. This role is flexible but we anticipate that you would need to commit to a minimum of 2 to 3 days a month on average to the role.
This is an opportunity for someone to make a meaningful difference to a charity that is vital in supporting children with cancer and their families in Wales. You will also gain invaluable experience in governance and leadership in the charity sector and have an opportunity to work alongside a dedicated Board of Trustees and wider team.
