Here to remember

Always remembered. Always loved. Always here for childhood cancer in Wales.

Give in memory of a loved one

Choosing to celebrate a loved one by leaving a gift to Latch is a truly special way to remember their life, a meaningful and lasting tribute to their memory.

Honouring someone special through in-memory giving is a deeply personal gesture. Your donation ensures that we can continue to be here for childhood cancer in Wales, supporting children and families through some of the most difficult times of their lives.

We are extremely grateful to all those who choose to give in this way. Every gift made in memory helps us provide vital emotional, practical, and financial support to children and their families when they need us most, ensuring your loved one’s legacy lives on through the care we provide.

“The fundraising I do for Latch helps me to feel connected to my son Paul who had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. With my sister Mary, I set up the West Wales Latch branch in 1995. We’ve had raffles, bottle sales and coffee mornings. We have also done sea dips, fun runs, and held concerts and dinner dances. All together, we have raised close to £500,000.”

Remembering your child

We understand that your child will always be in your heart. You may be looking for meaningful ways to celebrate their life and the precious memories you shared together.

That’s why we offer families a range of ways to cherish and remember their child, from taking part in our annual remembrance walk, to creating a special tribute page or adding them to our rainbow meadow in their name.

Bereavement Support

We understand that the journey through childhood cancer changes families forever, and when a child dies, that loss touches every part of life.

Latch has been here supporting families for over forty years, walking alongside them through the most difficult times with compassion.

For families whose child is palliative, our support continues throughout that time and for a further 13 months after bereavement. During this period, our dedicated team provides ongoing emotional, practical, and financial support.

If you’re ever unsure where to start, the Latch team can help you find the right support for you and your family.

If you’re struggling with grief, help is available and reaching out is a sign of strength. Please remember, you are not alone. There are places you can turn to for comfort, understanding, and specialist support beyond Latch.

Here are a few suggestions you can explore:

We do not receive governent funding. Our work is entirely funded by public donations, business support, fundraising and grants.

We are proud to be here for childhood cancer in Wales in many ways. Around 80 children in Wales are diagnosed with cancer each year and at any one time, Latch supports approximately 100 patients.

To deliver this vital support, Latch needs to raise over £900,000 annually. We rely on the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our volunteers to make this possible.
