We’re thrilled to share that our application to benefit from Facebook Fundraising has been accepted, and we can now be a part of wildly popular birthday fundraisers, with funds paid directly to LATCH with no fees taken by Facebook.
Creating a fundraiser is easy: When your birthday nears, you’ll get a notification and the ability to set up a birthday fundraiser which will ask you to choose the nonprofit you want to raise money for (LATCH naturally!). All you need to do next is to choose the amount of money you want to raise, the date you want your fundraiser to end and a title and description for your fundraiser.
You don’t have to wait for it to be your birthday either – you can set up a fundraiser for any event at any time, just as you would with JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving, with greater ease and the knowledge that all the funds raised will go to LATCH without those controversial admin fees!
Denise Henderson, LATCH General Manager, commented: “Facebook is becoming increasingly important to the charity sector, due to the huge numbers of people using the platform and the roll out of so many features that help us to connect with people in a way that suits them.”
“We’re so happy that so many of our supporters want to raise money for LATCH online nowadays, and Facebook Fundraising will no doubt be a hugely popular source of funding revenue for us which we so desperately need to continue to support families of children with cancer and leukaemia when they need it the most.”
